Quick-Change System
The Good Dog Quick-Change System allows you to quickly install
or remove seats and accessory platforms
from your Good Dog boat. The Quick-Change system uses a universal
thumb screw fastening system. This system uses high-grade 5/16”
stainless steel thumb screws with large 1 ½”
knobs to make it fast and easy to secure seats and accessory
items by hand without the need for tools. Your Good Dog comes
standard with 24 Quick-Change mounts, 16 built into the boat and 8
built into the center and stern seat frames.

The Good Dog seats and accessory platforms available to install
or remove with the Quick-Change system include:

center and stern webbed seats

Battery Platform installed using mounts built into the bow section
of your Good Dog hull stringer

Electric Motor System
Your Good Dog Electric Motor System is designed to benefit
you in three main ways. First, with this system
it is fast and easy to either install or remove your
electric motor and battery. Second, with this
system your battery is located in the bow wheen using a transom trolling
motor and in the stern when using a bow trolling motor keeping your
Good Dog balanced and trimmed.
Third, this system keeps the interior of
your boat cable-free which makes cleaning easier
and protects your motor cabling from damage.

To install an electric motor with this system you clamp any standard
transom-mount or bow-mount trolling motor to your boat, install the
battery box platform, and place your trolling motor battery in its
box. You plug both your motor and battery into built-in receptacles
and you are ready to motor. The cabling that
connects motor and battery is hidden in your Good Dog keel
inside plastic conduit that is installed standard on every Good Dog
boat.
The Electric Motor System is available in the following
options:
TRANSOM MOTOR STANDARD PACKAGE

Speedliner Urethane System
Your Good Dog keel, gunnels and transom are coated with a
special grade of urethane. We use a track-bedliner
grade urethane called Speedliner which is very tough and abrasion
resistant. In fact Speedliner is the toughest
in the industry, even tougher than LINE-X and Rhino coatings.

We coat your Good Dog with Speedliner urethane to make it easier
for you to store, transport and launch your Good
Dog boat. You can maneuver your Good Dog on and off storage
racks, truckbeds, cartops, trailers and dollies without concern
for damaging your boat.
One particularly beneficial capability with this coating
system is that it makes it easier for you
to solo cartop your boat. For example, to remove your Good Dog
from your vehicle’s roof rack, simply slide it off backwards
and rest the transom directly on the hard parking lot surface.
Then lower the keel onto the parking lot and place your boat
on a canoe/kayak style dolly. You are now ready to roll your
Good Dog to the water to catch big fish !!!

Performance Hull
Intensive research and development has gone into your Good Dog hull
design. The three key components to your Good
Dog hull design are, shape, materials and structure.

The shape of your Good Dog hull minimizes wetted
surface area to reduce drag and provide excellent glide
characteristics when rowing, paddling or electric motor trolling.
Your Good Dog’s hull shape tracks exceptionally well
with a keel that runs from stem to stern. Also, Good Dog’s
45inch beam provides “stand-up to cast” stability
and is the reason your Good Dog is substantially more stable than
a 36inch wide canoe. In addition, the curvature of the hull
sides enables the Good Dog to ride choppy water conditions much better
than a typical flat-sided jon boat and makes it very seaworthy.
In terms of materials, your Good Dog hull is constructed
with a high-grade vinylester resin and layers of
Kevlar, fiberglass and a special vacuum infusion
core material. These materials are formed into the
shape of your Good Dog hull using a leading edge vacuum infusion process.
With these materials and our proprietary manufacturing process your
hull is the lightest in its size class and much
quieter than an aluminum-constructed jon boat.
In terms of structure, your Good Dog is constructed
with a 5 component box beam skeleton and an advanced
composite skin that gives your hull stiffness while
still being lightweight, without the need for thwarts or cross-bracing
as done for canoes. Limiting the flex in your Good Dog’s
hull substantially enhances its ability to glide through the water

Multiple Seat Options
To provide the ultimate seating and gear versatility,
the Good Dog boat comes standard with 5 seat locations,
enabling you to utilize whatever seating arrangements best suit your
needs for the day. You receive 5 individual ash framed webbed seats.
Each specifically sized to fit the curvature of the boat at its designated
location. All 5 seats include quick-change thumb screws
and are equipped with threaded inserts to accept the swivel
seats and/or a fishing platform. These seats
are very functional being both lightweight and easy to maintain.

To add back support and additional cushioning to
the standard seats you may choose to purchase a SitBacker
seat accessory. These seats quickly buckle onto the webbed seats
and provide excellent back support and are sufficiently flexible to
use while rowing. In addition to the SitBacker seat, any other
seat accessories (e.g. gel pads) designed for canoe style seats you
may also use with your Good Dog.
A third seat for your Good Dog is a padded
swivel seat. These seats include comfortable padding
on both the seat and back supports and come pre-attached to a Good
Dog seat frame. You can easily install or remove these seats
from your Good Dog using the same Quick-Change mounts as used for
standard Good Dog seats. These seats are not intended for rowing,
but are great for electric motor trolling or outboard cruising.
They are very comfortable and allow you to extend your time on the
water.

Dry Storage
Your Good Dog boat comes standard with two Beckson
dry storage compartments, one in the bow
and one in the stern. These compartments are
accessed through 5inch diameter caps on the stern and bow decks.
The access ports are large enough to easily place your hand inside
the bags to remove stored items. The caps have water tight seals
and the bags have special water resistant seams. Also, the bags
easily snap-out to provide additional access to the flotation compartments.

Flotation
Your Good Dog boat has built-in bow and stern flotation
compartments that exceed the U.S. Coast Guard smallcraft requirements
for flotation. This provides a substantial measure of safety
in the event your Good Dog is swamped with water. In contrast,
canoes, kayaks and inflatable boats are exempt from these requirements.

With these compartments there is sufficient flotation
that an average sized adult can sit on the center seat with the interior
completely filled with water and the gunnels will
remain above the water surface.
Menu
Thru-Hole Fittings
Your Good Dog comes standard with two stem mounted
RWO thru-hole fittings with stainless steel inserts. The smaller
fitting is for a toggle handle and the larger fitting is for your
bow line. The primary reason these fitting are integral to your
boat is to allow you to cartop your Good Dog without worrying that
an exposed metal fitting will scratch your vehicle.

Menu
Performance Sockets
Your Good Dog comes standard with special oarlock sockets built
into the gunnels of your boat. These sockets are made
using a special-low friction polymer bushing that makes rowing quieter
and easier. As you may have experienced, traditional metal oarlock
sockets have a tendency to make noise with each stroke. In contrast,
the Good Dog sockets are virtually silent.

In addition, your Good Dog oarlock sockets are made flush
with the gunnel surface. This feature keeps the Good
Dog gunnels clean so your boat can be easily slid
onto a roof rack without catching a fitting.
Your Good Dog includes two pairs of oarlock sockets,
one pair for rowing from the center seat
and one pair for rowing from the bow seat.
The unused pair of sockets may be outfitted with open style oarlocks
to serve as a resting bracket for your oars, paddles or even a landing
net.
