Bow Motor Wireless Steering

Now your Good Dog can be easily outfitted with a bow-mounted trolling motor. Using your bow-mounted motor you can precisely maneuver among structure-filled fishing areas that are excellent habitat for hungry trout or monster bass.

An exciting option with the bow-mounted motor system is wireless steering using either a cordless foot pedal or rod-mounted remote control. In particular, the rod-mounted control maximizes your ability to simultaneously maneuver both your Good Dog boat and your fishing rod. You can virtually walk on water by standing in your Good Dog boat, casting and steering with instant finger-tip control.

The Good Dog bow motor system can be easily installed and cleanly integrated with the interior lay-out of your boat. This new package includes a bow-motor platform, made from high-grade Starboard® polymer, that quickly installs with thumb screws to the bow section of your boat. Bolted to this platform is a quick-mount bracket that enables rapid installation and removal of the bow-mounted trolling motor from your Good Dog boat. Also part of this new package is a battery platform with a strapped-down battery box that easily installs in the stern section of your boat just forward of the stern flotation compartment. The wiring system that connects your trolling motor and battery includes, Marinco® trolling-motor grade plugs and receptacles, a 50 Amp automatic reset circuit breaker and conduit hidden in the keel to keep your boat’s interior as clean as possible.

Good Dog Bow Motor Packages

The Good Dog Bow Motor Standard Package includes a bow-motor platform (with quick-mount bracket), a stern battery platform (with Group 24 battery box) and pre-wire items including tinned-power cable, Marinco® connectors and a battery wiring harness with a 50Amp automatic reset circuit breaker.

Also, now available, is the Good Dog Bow Motor Premium Package. This package includes all the items provided with the standard package plus two additional Marinco® receptacles and two electric bus bars mounted inside the flotation compartments. With this system you can double your time on the water by powering your bow-mounted trolling motor with TWO Group 24 sized batteries (one located in the stern and one located in the bow of your boat).

Recommended Bow-Mounted Trolling Motor

A motor recommended for use on your Good Dog boat is Minn Kota’s PowerDrive(TM) V2 bow-mounted 40lbs thrust trolling motor. This system includes an ergonometric corded-foot pedal, Minn Kota’s Maximizer battery-life extension technology, a convenient deploy-assist lever and a battery-charge meter. A powerful option with this motor is Minn Kota’s CoPilot(TM) Wireless System. This product provides wireless control using either a rod-mounted (can also be wrist or belt-mounted) remote control or a wireless foot pedal. The CoPilot(TM) Wireless System can be purchased and installed as an aftermarket item.
